Good, Efficacy, and Authoritarian Government

I have carefully walked around all the ‘isms” on this website because I feel we need to speak from the heart sometimes or, as you may know by now, respond freely with discipline to our feeling states. Joy, inspiration, rage, and depression are, for example, feeling states unfettered in our souls by ideology. The Good Decision process is a translation device that guides one through the oh-so-necessary work of transforming initial personal feeling states into legitimate public authority. Democracy is an alternative to kIngs, authoritarian, and dictatorial forms of political power. Democracy is very hard work and I sense the world is tired. I feel a wave of “tell me what to do” coming on.

Authoritarianism is a temptation that needs to be resisted particularly when you are tired. Being told what to do can never work long no matter what your political party or ideology is. The human being’s central idiosyncrasy is the never-ending need for efficacy . . . or the need to express and act effectively from one’s life story. Any government that does not recognize that need to create the space for the irrepressible plurality of its population of human beings is entering it’s Titanic Stage of existence. Do we need to start looking for life rafts and floatation devices. Maybe, but for now I will keep trying to make this democracy work. For me democracy is ‘good’.
