Good, Grief, Jan 6 and DD Day

For people living outside the Meta-trance, January 6 is our American democracy’s second  Day of Infamy. That is why when this day opened with the next administration promising celebrating and exoneration for the convicted perpetrators of the January 6 crimes this writers emotions erupted into a turmoil of anger and helplessness. But what is the ‘good’ direction I can take to this insult to our nation’s honored traditions of the peaceful transition of power?

For those who believe their eyes and saw the comprehensively recorded evil of that day, can hear with their ears the paper thin lies about the source of that outrage, and need to use their speech to address the feelings churning for expression I suggest we collect together and declare January 6 Democracy Desecration Day or DD day. The attack on Congress and democratic process was singular in history. The evidence was conclusive and so far any defense of the perpetrators was proven unfounded and without evidence repeatedly. So why can’t we mourn for the people killed and their families and all those who lost a loved one by the actions of the directed mob on that day . This effort to institutionalize the denial probably won’t last the four years of this next administration

I will swing back to the last posting and our children’s future as well as their safety. If children see their parents as unreliable in the dimension of truth telling, safety for them at any age goes out the door. This writer just needed to grieve on this sad day and settle the violence of my emotions into a nonviolent strengthening of my resolve to help history record the sadness of January 6 (DD day) and our eventual commitment to never let it happen again.  This is a day of mourning so that all who choose to honor their feelings for this country and its traditions can transform rage to meaning by properly feeling and speaking for the losses.

Thank you Marie. I hope anyone who reads this passes it on to all the people they know who feel a little crazy and abandoned by what is going on these days at this level.
