Decapitation for the human species is 100% fatal.  The numbers are only slightly better for decapitated nations.  The French Revolution’s Reign of Terror demonstrated through the daily use of the guillotine if you decapitate a human being there is zero chance you can put that head or another better head back on the same victim again. The dullest of executioners knows that the body can’t survive a beheading and there is no going back once it is done.  Unfortunately our current administration doesn’t seem to care to take that inconvenient truth into account in this current revision of US foreign policy. Crude regime change is a decapitation. Venezuela was in trouble before but now is bleeding inflation as the predictable consequences of national decapitation engage. While this administration can camouflage inflation in this country, that same does not hold true for the poorer economies.  What meat (protein) may be available today to the common people in Venezuela is suddenly going for $9.00 a pound and rising. The country is heading for a deeper humanitarian crisis. All our President seems to care about is tapping the oil.  

Don’t think for a moment the people of Greenland haven’t seen the reign of terror going on in American cities and streets.  From their perspective a former respected, even loved, ally has turned into a terrifying imperialist adventurer almost overnight.  NATO suddenly has to divide its attention to accomodate second aggressor country lead by a person who admires Russia’s power moves and that second aggressor is our own country. We are betraying our own security alliance. The United States will be living with a Jekyll/Hyde reputation for the foreseeable future no matter how quickly we fix this incomprensible development. Unlike the mammalian species, decapitated countries can survive and grow a new executive head, but only with long term expensive, committed, supported care. Your children will have to foot that bill USA, and don’t expect them to thank you in the future.  If not this administration, the next administration will have to invest in restoring and stabilizing Venezuela. To think for a second, or to even hint, that we could decapitate Venezuela, Greenland and Iran along with Cuba and still restore order and economy in those settings is pretty close to suicidal and clearly in violation of the law.  

An Urgent Proposal for Good

Defend the midterm election process in this country.  A clear message must be sent to Congress in those midterms to resume it’s responsibilities. The cooler heads in the Supreme Court will have to show some judicial independence.  The US armed services are not a one-stop trigger for a single, impulsive, individual. Every member of Congress either by action or inaction is responsible for what is happening to our armed forces, this country and the world.  This project goes back to focus and grounding.  The arc back to an America we even remotely knew and loved is going to be at least 5 years if we start now.  Ground yourself and get ready. This writer is talking about a nonviolent correction built around good decisions.  This current phase of guillotine diplomacy has to be shortened starting now.  We will all pay a price for the damage being done to our reputation and allies, but that should not stop us from beginning the intensive reformation of the  United States of America.  That would be good.
