Good and Treating the Wounds of Chaos Governance

I see there are now right wing leaning Senators and Representatives that are noticing economic pain in their Districts from these arbitrary budget cuts being inflicted by the current administration. Farmers, Small Businesses, entrepreneurs schools and Universities are seeing the immediate local impact of the cuts on daily life and income. We will surely have to respond to the impacts of these thoughtless, cruel, purely emotional cuts and tariffs as the consequences rise like the relentless tide to wash away family farms and small town struggling economies and what was once the world’s most enviable higher education system.

When the wood cutter swings the axe wrong and cuts an artery in the leg, the first response is to stop working and staunch the flow of blood with a tourniquet. What is quickly becoming clear is the so called Department of Government Efficiency has swung the axe wrong and the economy is already bleeding. Congress for now, instead of leaping for a tourniquet, is making polite squeaks up the ladder suggesting maybe we should be more professional and targeted. A wood cutter laying bleeding in the woods is not going to take a moment to watch a YouTube video on proper use of the axe before addressing the wound. Nor should congress or the judiciary take their sweet time to save this nation’s economy. A President’s job is closer in economics and international affairs to an orchestra conductor’s work. If the orchestra conductor is not interested in the detail, a cacophony is absolutely predictable.

Good would be all people whose lives are being upended by the administration’s chaos approach should be leaning on their representatives hard, both Republican and Democrats. Let them know you won’t be voting for anyone who stole your capacity to make a living. Let them know today because we can already see and feel it coming. Pressure from the ground up could become a conducted orchestra in a short two years and just in time for the midterm elections. That would be good. Your family and community will thank you . . . eventually.
