The error of this age is the conflation of information with capital “T” Truth. This error is being exponentially accelerated by the misuse of AI combined with the practice of nihilism in our current government. Nihilism as an unspoken philosophy has bought a nice suit and strutted itself to the nation’s capital with its AI mentor. AI can be an asset to society or the quintessential servant of the dark master of behavior called “unconscious bias”. Absent anything even resembling conscience or spirit, AI will serve any deception imbedded in its information process.  What’s new about AI is the depth of deception is so well hidden beyond human intelligence and discernment, we humans cannot initially detect the bias, and easily fall into the engineered trance of the  devious human programming.  Hence, the holocaust never happened. January 6 was a patriotic act. This religion is wrong and evil and that race is inferior. Meanwhile Truth is hidden in the fog of unconscious bias, and flogged by the deceptions of rage, greed, hubris, and hatred. 

Nihilism which is a philosophy of meaninglessness easily becomes a license to self indulgence.  Nihilism has great dexterity on the surface, but is hollow at the center. As far back as history records, the fall into the easy hedonism of nihilism has never ended well. It seems fair to conclude that what hedonism we inevitably practice was meant to only enhance the difficult journey of building from a truthful center. The line between the easy self indulgence of Washington these days and healthy recreation is thin. The integrity Truth demands is up to each of us to maintain given our culture, race, gender, religion, and unique self. 

A Modest Proposal for Good

It is no secret that our era fears the subjective experience because subjectivity’s first expression comes from risky feeling mixed with imperfect inclination rather than controllable language.  The guidance of Truth is more a spirit than a prescription. For a ‘human scoped’ mind, science is Truth’s accurate echo and science has restrained, until recently, the darker powers of unbridled inclination to which we are all vulnerable. Authentic science only becomes the enemy when people need dominance of the conscious world in that futile effort fill the black hole of nihilism at the center.  Look around these days and guess what?  We are pushing inconvenient science away.  This project suggests good is facing the messages of Truth through science and our own unique individual whispers of the sense of good.  Good must face the truth of real world four dimensional feedback and consequence in community and politics.  Conscience is the fourth dimension. AI is here to stay unless our national energy infrastructure sags under its strain.  But suddenly we all must treat our sense of good, and its guardian, the conscience, as our most important human asset. Human intelligence can only be the servant of good and never the master.
