One of the harder jobs on the planet would  be, in this writers mind, working as a TSA agent.  Their job is critical for the safety of flying and they have to interact with courtesy and on a never ending assembly line of urgent, often irritated human beings at their worst moments  Not even  the president of our own country can produce that level of performance.  And these low paid people have been chosen as the sacrificial lambs for presidential/congressional ineptness. How did we elect such a cadre of self-interested public servants only capable of performing empty rituals while the while our real security forces line up at the food bank and the world catches fire. 

The solution is far from impossible.  We could  relieve the TSA agents from having to shoulder the suffering for this country’s while we settle the battle with that near private, extra legal police force. Why must the low paid work horses of in public sector have to endure being the hostages of both parties?  This is inhumane and an embarrassment to the whole nation. I am ashamed to travel these days.

Simple Recommendation for Good

Pay the TSA agents.  They are people living in a hard income bracket. Congress and the President seem content to forget this simple fact.  For an administration that finds a terrorist behind every frowning face, I am having a hard time understanding their indifference to the security force that is actually on the front lines of today’s public safety.  This is not complicated. Pay now and then apologize to the TSA agents. That would be good.  Good decisions are not that hard at times, but only when your head clears of your own self centered needs to make room for public service.
