The current Administration’s unprecedented orgy of debt accumulation, assault on the value of the dollar, and obsession with bitcoin should not strike anyone as subtle.  We, in the this generation, have grown up with the dollar as the globe’s benchmark currency.  In the past the fiscal crises of the United States we have triggered a series of self-imposed disciplined actions that reestablished stability and the world has come to rely on our discipline and the strong dollar.  What is different in our Nation today is the dollar is being used by our own leadership to mine the value that gives the dollar future credibility. The value of tomorrow is being funneled into dark money, private fortunes, and bitcoin. This combination grift can be understood as a vampire scheme to suck the value out of our offspring’s future solvency since apparently there isn’t enough cash money in the present moment to make already wealthy people wealthy enough.  How sad and pathetic is that

Think of the future as your unborn child and the present moment as a developmental moment for that future. The current generation of politicians have worked out system to drain the future unborn of essential resources to fill their own “present moment” coffers. The system of ‘future grifting’ is being worked under the cover of dark money.  Bitcoin is just another scheme to vacuum the value out of the future dollar. The process of this theft is painless for voters who seem lulled to sleep by contemporary entertainments, but the inevitable pain of these crimes against the future is reserved for the unborn whose protests will only bounce off our graves.  

Modest Proposal for Good

So as good adults now we need to vote down this vast theft and think of that future as we would the nursery of our own children and grandchildren.  We can do that through a posture of activity that recognizes these thieves are not great evil monsters, but simple pathetic crooks subject to the authority of the US Constitution.  They can do great harm, but their crimes must not overcome the discipline of a confident democracy and economy.  Time to clean the house.  That would be good.
