If you are reading the news critically and from a range of sources you will see there is no political good news.  We are in a slow motion game of chicken with ourselves.  “Chicken” is the game where two parties cruise down the highway from opposite directions at lethal speed and on the same lane.  Who is going to veer off first to live another day?  It is a game played by hormone driven, driving teenagers just before they realize their own mortality or die.  This is not a game for adults in charge of governing a nation and society.

Athletes and martial artists know the power of any exceptional move comes out of the center.  The Republicans have no center, and no power because they are working off the bobble-head of executive ordering.  The Democrats could have power, but that power would call for a unified center and that looks less likely every day.  This game of chicken is on and We the People are not immortal. We need to unify at the legislative level and revive the balance of both power and judgement.  That cannot happen unless one party or the other centers, or some new coalition wrestles the traffic of political thought back onto two concurrent seriously collaborating lanes of traffic. 

Repeated Call For Good

Do not listen to the drone of insults of the upcoming elections.  Do not listen to campaign memes centered around communism, socialism, right, left, dingbats and idiots calling each other names. Look for campaigns where you can see yourself, your daily issues, your small business crisis, your need for an incorruptible, trust worthy government.  Anyone who insults people or diminishes them instead of dealing with your real issues needs to scratched off your list of potential votes.  People who insult and diminish opponents are too immature to govern, and probably even to parent.  The real political scoundrels don’t need insults as much as a little jail time. The sense of good at the mature level is not naive or painless. To make good decisions in the upcoming years is going to cost us in money and self denial. We have lost our margin of safety to this current administration. Let’s not continue play childish, foolish games of paralyzing chicken.  Let us decide to return to an adult democracy governed from center by justice, fairness, and the tolerance required to maintain our national few gems left; our plurality and social centered freedoms.
