Excerpted from Morning Poem by Mary Oliver
“. . .Each pond. with its blazing lillies
is a prayer heard and answered
lavishly
every morning.
Whether or not
you have ever dared to be happy
Whether or not
you have ever dared to pray.”
Words of Reflection from The Good Decision
Our nation on the is on the brink and my friends are laying out two suits on the bed in preparation for the decision We the People deliver on election day; one suit of clothes for celebration and one for mourning. We will mark the tracks of our own individual voices at the polls and go home in suspension. The community of us finally gets to speak. Yes take the precautions of dress but remember, as Mary Oliver reminds us, regardless of outcome, the sun rises every morning and sets the lillies afire. Pray if you dare for the decisions, good or not, are momentous.
