What ever dread or giddy celebration is anticipated from this election week, remember this. The consequences will come with perfect certainty, but the consequences are not you. You will continue as you are being who you are, moment by moment.
From William Stafford’s book: Writing the Australian Crawl
“It is a whisper. You turn somewhere,
hall, street, some great event: the stars
or the lights hold; your next step waits you
and the firm world waits– but
There is a whisper. You always live so,
a being that receives, or partly receives, or
fails to receive each moments touch”.
Brief Reflection
I think we are all living in a world that is failing to communicate. In this country and culture, the consequences of our failure to communicate and our response to those consequences must include a deep desire to connect and unite. Everything else is just another chain link binding us to the doom loop of today’s government. We can’t live here, in doom, so take the care to receive the moment’s touch and connect. Be quiet today so you don’t drop the whispers of communion that can lead us home again to democracy. Be in this Sunday for next week will be hungry for the future.
