I could say a lot about this country right now, and of course I have.  But our nation’s soul is flickering right now and Hafiz gets to the point in this truncated poetic segment.

“A child’s mere pencil sketch is every religions 

best description of God.

Who then will ever take issue or argue over such a naive and innocent portrait?

Surely the intelligent, compassionate and wise

would not bother with such.

And who with a living heart  would not encourage

a child’s art in hopes that some day,

Some day a great truth and work might be gifted to our world

through their soul’s strength . . .”

Intelligence is like a wild horse you need to train for you to use with your natural gifts. With no training, that horse can take one anywhere and will look for a clothes line to rid itself of your fussiness.  We have a lot of people in leadership right now who don’t know the first thing about riding their own amazing horses.  Today is Sunday following Saturday.  If used honestly and correctly, with a clear loving heart, your spiritual tradition can be a unique training manual for matching your wild horse intelligence with your gift.  Find leaders and teachers who have harnessed their intelligence with gift and are using the clear loving hearts of a child for orientation. Those teachers will guide you to good decisions and that would. be good.
