The Overview of the The Good Decision Process
A good decision arises from the individual but its consequences run through the community and in some cases across the Planet.
“In our African Language we say “a person is a person through other persons”. I would not know how to be a human at all except I learned this from other human beings. We are made for a delicate network of relationships of interdependence. We are meant to complement each other. All kinds of things go horribly wrong when we break that fundamental law of our being”.
The Words of Bishop Desmond TuTu
Every individual decision should be treated as “one of the future’s children”

The Good Decision Process in Four Discernment
The Good Decision Process is four discernments (Pauses) prior to deciding an option. The decision begins with you and your private story. The good within you can guide you to the good decision. But the good within you is a process of growth as you witness both the good and bad of this world. Every decision though begins with you, your feelings and your mind. The goal across the four discernments is integrity and moral health.
Discernment I: (Private self) My Sense of Good: Pause, hold the option being considered in your mind and minds eye and feel what happens inside of you. Feeling good is an invitation to take this option to the next pause but not a green light.
Discernment II: Stage l (Private self) My Sense of Good and the Community: Holding on to the good feeling bring the members of your family and community and contemplate what the impact of this option will be on them. Do you still feel as good or good at all.
Discernment III: (Public self) My Sense of Good and Democracy: Although a bit more complicated is this option legal? Is it moral in accordance with whatever believes you hold or sensitivities you harbor. Is it good for your democracy and the public good
Discernment IV: ( Public self) My Sense of Good and Service: If you are in medical, social, child, and any other public service, has the person you served been guided through this same sequence of considerations? Have you served that person’s sense of good? If not, can you live with the outcome of your service decision.
