“One lives a good life through making good decisions and continually going to that place in you where you find your good.”

—The Good Decision Project

The Next Democracy

Given the critical times we are in this Project has proposed a very short, succinct body of language to re-introduce the idea of democracy to the 21st Century. We no longer can afford to compete for points on the scale of mutual hatred. We must find language that addresses the critical stress point of democracy in our world today. Click below, read, comment and do a pre-vote if you see something to which you can commit.

  • Good, the Inventory of Loss, and Resistance

The Morning After This writer predicted that half our nation would be suffering grief no matter who won the election. I am now in the minority of grief while apparently a majority are celebrating. This is called democracy, and presumably… Continue reading

  • Good, Duty of Witness, and the Nation’s Next Story

This concludes this election series of posts. In not too long the votes will be counted and possibly be in the process of being recounted and re-recounted. The possibility of violence exists coming from the transfer of power; a feeling… Continue reading

  • Good, Fascism, Socialism and Play Ground Insults

Lobbing gross insults across the line is a pathetic way to run a campaign. We hear people shouting ‘fascist’, ‘socialist’, ‘communist’ and so forth while many have only a vague idea of what is contained in these exchanges.  The current acceptance… Continue reading

  • Good, Hubris, the Waxed Emperor, and the Mentor

The myth of Icarus is a cautionary tale for all times.  Flying too close to the sun with wax wings has predictable results. This is very much a tale for our time. Myths are truth that instruct with undeniable, universally… Continue reading

  • Good Future Hope and the New Vote Market

My generation, like all generations, is not innocent.  We accomplished some good things in our time, but we also seem to have not considered sufficiently the needs of future generations with the committed energy needed. Many indigenous societies and cathedral… Continue reading

  • Good, Power and the Human Scale

Over a life time I have come to understand the famous or influential people I have both admired and encountered as regular human beings, full of vanities, foibles, contradictions, heroic actions, kindness, cruelty, betrayal and often capable of great empathy… Continue reading

  • Good, Delusion, Narrative and Numbers

When it comes to politics or business, some times the numbers work for you, and sometimes the narrative is the wind in your sails. Either way, narrative and numbers are a single sword with two equally sharp edges. In one… Continue reading

  • Good, Integrity and Stolen Stories

For the duration of our existence our bodies and senses continuously take in a massive storm of information . In a near miraculous 300 milii-seconds or so our personal process sorts out all of it. Most information is assigned to… Continue reading

  • Good, War, and the new Escalating Stalemate

As we pass through year one of the middle east conflict I have to wonder if perhaps we have a third party in these tragic wars of our new young century. That third party would be an arms industry that… Continue reading

  • Good, Lies, Connection and Crime

This project tries to help people ground their decisions in the truth starting with discerning one’s own truth.  Good decisions rely on truth.  A fact alone is not a truth and sadly lies often contain facts.  In some ways, the… Continue reading
